OnTrace Agri-food signs collaborative agreement with OMAFRA

Guelph, Ontario, Canada. July 22, 2010 – OnTrace Agri-food Traceability (OnTrace) has signed a collaborative agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) that will accelerate the implementation and adoption of traceability solutions throughout the province.

OnTrace (www.ontraceagrifood.com) is an industry-led, not-for-profit corporation leading many key agriculture and food traceability initiatives in the province of Ontario.

Intelliware Development Inc. has been OnTrace’s technology partner since the not-for-profit organization’s inception in 2007. Intelliware created OnTrace’s first major building block of traceability, a Premises Registry for all agricultural properties in Ontario.

With a unique premise identifier in place, emergency management and traceability solutions focused on the movement of items along the supply chain can now be implemented. Intelliware continues to work with OnTrace to develop and launch the traceability solutions that will deliver benefits to the agriculture industry and consumers.
