Loblaw wanted to reinforce their industry leadership position by adding a new channel to engage their customers. Specifically, they wanted to take advantage of their collection of over 700 recipes on www.pc.ca and create an easy-to-use, interactive iPad® app that would become a must-have kitchen utensil for busy households.
Intelliware was engaged to conduct an Accelerated Mobile Roadmap to define the mobile app strategy for the President’s Choice® cookbook. Following this, a prototype was rapidly built which demonstrated the core functionality and design. Once the concept was approved, the app was built within a short timeframe and was launched on the App Store.

President’s Choice™ Recipe Box is engaging, simple, and intuitive. Designed to take full advantage of the iPad® device and features, it makes using the recipes simple and fun. Vivid imagery, video, multiple ways to search and discover recipes, the ability to save and share favourites all contribute to an exceptional branded experience for consumers. Further, the App integrates with the www.pc.ca back end to showcase their recipes. It also links to their customer service and support.
Within 24 hours, the President’s Choice™ Recipe Box iPad® app hit top iPad® app position in the App Store. The app continues to hold a top place ranking in the App Store today.
