April’s shaping up to be a busy month for Intelliware. We’re thrilled to be hosting 2 meetups in our DevSpace and sponsoring the 10th Annual Toronto Agile Open Space. We invite you to join us this month for tech talks, networking and knowledge sharing with people from the Toronto Tech Community.

DevOps Toronto Meetup – Tuesday April 2nd

Intelliware will be hosting the DevOps Toronto monthly meetup on Tuesday April 2nd. The themes for the talks of this meetup are Cloud Abuse and Spinnaker. The meetup will start at 6:00 p.m. and go till 9:00 p.m.

Talk #1: “Cloud Abuse” – Ernest Kugel
With great power comes great responsibility. And a deep corporate credit card linked to an AWS or GCP account is indeed a lot of power. The power to do good, or the power to create a virtual rat’s nest that split-brains periodically and is impossible to audit. This talk will take you through some of ways I’ve seen public clouds being abused, the reasons this happens, and what you can do (or not do) to help it.

Talk #2: “Spinnaker” – Pierre-Nick Durette
Spinnaker is a continuous delivery platform by Netflix and open sourced in late 2015. Fast-forward 3 years, Spinnaker can deploy to 9 (!) cloud providers and platforms; with many project contributions coming from the cloud providers themselves (Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.). This talk will feature a quick overview of what Spinnaker can do, what we have done with it and a demo!
