The Take Our Kids to Work (TOKW) program, which originally began in 1994 in the Greater Toronto Area, has now grown into a national program across Canada, from Nunavut to Newfoundland. For the 13th consecutive year, Intelliware has been using this day as an opportunity for students to experience what a career option in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) would be like.

For students, our TOKW event is more than just a fun day away from school. Our interactive program includes learning about various career paths in STEM and a hands-on programming exercise, giving students the opportunity to learn to code. By bringing students into the office, we hope to give them an idea of what a day in the life of a tech industry professional looks like. We also hope to encourage more students to pursue STEM careers. Many people only think about Developers when they think of tech jobs, but we’d like to highlight all of the diverse and exciting positions available.

Take Our Kids to Work Day is an event that supports career development by providing students with a day of in-depth career exploration and real-life experience in the workplace. As students are the future of the industry, we believe they should explore STEM career paths as early in their academic careers as possible. We’re thrilled to host a new group of students again this year!
